Extreme couponing Rexburg

We like free stuff. Allison and I have changed hobbies three times in the last few months. First, it was sweepstaking. We would each spend about an hour everyday entering as many sweepstakes as possible. We did that for about a month, received: (1) signed Team spidertech cycling jersey, (1) 5 lbs bag of whole wheat flour, (2) Intensive night cremes ($111 value!), and maybe a few more things that I can't remember.

Then, Alli started doing free samples. Everyday she would find companies online giving away free samples and she would request them. She's received a whole lotta small packages from that.
1) ricola Dual action lozenges, (3) Hunt's 8oz. tomato sauce, (1) Olay body wash, (4) Kotex liners-18 ct., (1) Satin care shave cream, (1) Venus Shave system, (1) Crest Pro health toothpaste, (1) Oral B Pro health toothbrush, (1) Body wash poof, (not pictured: Colgate Whitening toothpaste)

Most recently we've been couponing. We've got some great steals the past two weeks. Here's today's example. We received 75 cents for everything seen above. Yes, you heard us right...We walked out of the store with more money than we came in with. How, you might ask? That's our secret. No, but if you really want to know...that would have to be another post. Our biggest disappointment this week was going to Albertson's and finding that someone had cleared the whole shelf of dawn dishwashing liquid--it was free with their sale and a coupon--so that made us upset. We went early monday morning expecting to be the first couponers of the day. I guess there are people more extreme than us.

This is a great hobby for us to do together because not only is it saving us money (and making money in some trips), but we have fun treating it like a game, trying to see who can spot the best deals.

Rolling machine

Louie's turning into a rolling machine. I put her down in the middle of the floor, within minutes she's screaming because she's hit a wall. I put her down again, minutes later she's trapped under the coffee table. She learned her lesson this morning, though, when she rolled off our carpet and onto our tile-floored kitchen. Ouch! Imagine a large noggin' rolling along on tile. Poor babe.

Snow day

Winter has officially struck Rexburg. Yesterday, October 6th, it snowed. It started with rain, then rain and snow, then snow. It snowed from noon until 6 a.m. this morning. The ground was covered, our car was covered, Alli and Louie and I were covered...in blankies. Our neighbors made a snowman, our friends had a snowball fight, we stayed inside and tried to watch t.v., but apparently our satellite doesn't work when it's snowing. It's gonna be a long winter.

Conference weekend

We had the pleasure of watching general conference from the comfort of our home. With Alli lying on the couch and I following #ldsconf on twitter, Louie got into all kinds of mischief.
First, she figured out how to change the layout on Alli's computer (I still don't know what she did).
Then, she rolled herself up in this blankie.
She got herself stuck and was screaming until I opened up this little hole for her to see out of. Once she could see, she sat happily snuggled up for quite a while.
I think this is the most adorable picture in the world.
